THE BREAK-UP!
Written and Performed by Tina D'Elia
Directed by Mary Guzman
Produced by Andy Guest
Tina D’Elia’s fantastical return to Theatre Rhinoceros is here to lift you off your couch and send you down
a wacky rabbit hole of lesbian sitcom-level breakup drama, talking cats and roaming hedgehogs, and as
always, her impeccably magical character comedy that will leave you both belly-laughing and in tears
when you least expect. The Break-Up! promises a more personal, vulnerable (though still hilarious) look
into the trials and difficulties of dating as a queer femme on the margins - navigating gender fluidity,
neo-pronouns, misunderstood sexualities, and - most universally - the oh-so-familiar pain of heartbreak.
The Break-Up! A Latina queer torch song is written and performed by Tina D’Elia and directed by
longtime collaborator and filmmaker Mary Guzmán, and made possible with a generous contribution
from honorary producer Andy Guest. Costume design by Christine U’Ren, lighting design by Colin
Johnson, stage manager Raye Goh, produced by John Fisher and Crystal Liu.
